$12.00 + $3.20 BF = $15.20 online presales / $15.00 on the door

Fans can rejoice at the fact that there will be no departures here (bar a background whiff of the 80's) a jogging synth-laced guitar-pop track which delivers as much playful joy as it does devastation. Brave Face stay true to their brand of breezy narcotic pop tunes, organic guitars and driving yet dreamy percussion - sure to leave an audience hearts fluttering, nothing bitter to ponder.
Support will be in the form of Australian Soul/Pop sensation Willow - who are riding high on the back of their recent single's national radio success - along with young songwriting prodigy Jackson Mclaren - fresh off a national tour with Counting Crows.

Writers are rock stars, right? Of course we’d agree! Well, sometimes, rock stars are writers too. Bob Dylan’s a singer songwriter to some, a pure poet to many others.
In a night to remember, the Emerging Writers’ Festival will explore the differences and similarities between writing and music, how they are practiced and how they inform each other. Is there an inherent musicality to writing and what would great songwriting be without its literary qualities?
Turn The Words Up Loud is a dynamic panel discussion with live performance. Join us as the Emerging Writers’ Festival goes electric, goes live and goes loud!
Featuring poet and songwriter LUKE BEESLEY, the legendary DAVE GRANEY, former Frente! singer-songwriter and memoirist ANGIE HART, and novelist and musician ALICE MELIKE ÜLGEZER Hosted by ALICIA SOMETIMES.

GABRIEL LYNCH 'Dependent State' EP Launch with special guests WHITAKER, ESTHER HOLT and LEADLIGHT
$10.00 on the door
Australian troubadour, Gabriel Lynch, returns to Australia after his hugely successful tour of Asia to present songs from his new mini-album, Dependent State. After wooing audiences throughout an extended tour of Australiasia in 2012, Lynch will take to the stage at The Toff in Town with a brand new seven piece band. With a full rock ensemble behind him for the first time in three years, Lynch will once again demonstrate the vibrancy and energy that earned him the accolade of possessing "one of the best Aussie male voices you've never heard" (BMA Mag, Australia).
The independent musician has performed at festivals internationally alongside the likes of Elbow, The Whitlams, and Architecture in Helsinki and has often been found sharing the stage with long-time musical colleagues and rising indie stars, Charles Lim (Singapore) and Svavar Knutur (Iceland). At age 25, he has toured extensively throughout Australia, Asia and Europe, garnering the title of “Australia’s Damien Rice, minus the cheese” (Iceland National Radio).
Dependent State, which features the lead single "Another Apology”, is Lynch's most evocative and intricate release to date. His extraordinary lyrics document episodes of guilt, emancipation and, in the case of the tumbling centrepiece “What Friends Are For”, even murder. The record demonstrates Lynch’s prowess as a songwriter and storyteller and is carried by his unorthodox and delicate guitar work and distinctive baritone.
Watching Lynch in concert is like "being regaled by a solemn bard with a series of absorbing tales" (Rave Magazine, Australia). His music is "sweet, darling and emotionally charged" (The Grapevine) and he is just as likely to inspire a spontaneous sing-along as he to reduce his audience to complete silence.

THURSDAY JUNE 06, 2013. Secret Sounds by arrangement with Artist Voice presents
HIGH HIGHS (USA) with special guests
$34.10 +BF / Doors from 8pm
Tipped as a band to watch by Pitchfork, NME and The Guardian on the strength of their debut EP, HIGH HIGHS will be home in Australia to show off their wares. Melbourne and Sydney fans will be treated to the hypnotic live experience with two intimate shows at The Toff In Town and Oxford Art Factory.
The Sydney natives have now relocated to Brooklyn; but the chaos and cold have done little to diminish their dreamy, atmospheric sun kissed pop.
"Synth-laced acoustica with pop choruses; lullabies with bite." - The Guardian, New Band of the Day
"The EP is a breathtaking debut from the three-piece, providing stunning vocals and quietly confident instrumentation, with much promise for the future." - Tone Deaf, 8.5/10
Their shimmering, harmony-laden indie pop has drawn favourable comparisons to Neil Young across the blogosphere. But their marriage of electronic indie and classic acoustic rock has created a dynamic widescreen sound of their own reckoning. High Highs are a not-to-be-missed act.

THE WINTER MIGRATION 'Rebuild The Universe' Launch with special guests EMMA HEENEY and THE STEINBECKS
$20.00 on the door (Includes a copy of the debut album)
After the release of ‘Railyard Songs’ in 2011 – a series of songs recorded in an old train carriage in Melbourne’s Newport Railyards –The Winter Migration are proud to be launching their debut album, ‘Rebuild The Universe’, recorded by ARIA award-winner Monique Brumby, and Nick Larkins (from seminal Tassie folk / rock band Wild Pumpkins at Midnight). Fronted by singer-songwriter Marisa Brown (formerly of folkie-rock band Duckdive), The Winter Migration creates music that is dreamy, honest, and beautiful. Backed by delicate piano and guitar, violin, double bass and percussion, Marisa’s ethereal voice will take you on a journey through love, loss and excel spreadsheets. The album showcases Marisa’s matured songwriting skills, whilst still retaining her trademark intimate, earthy style. The Winter Migration will be appearing in 'mini-orchestra' mode, and supports are old friends The Steinbecks, and Emma Heeney (playing a special full-band show).
